Oracle working on a deal to acquire CERN

On Dec 16, 2021, according to the Wall Street Journal, Enterprise software maker Oracle is in talks to buy electronic medical records company Cerner (CERN) in a deal that could be valued at $30 billion.

If the deal happens, it will be the biggest ever deal for Oracle, which has a market value of more than $280 billion. The transaction could bring Oracle a portfolio of health data to train and improve its artificial intelligence-based cloud services, boosting its presence in the healthcare sector.

Cerner is the biggest seller of electronic health record software in the United States after Epic Systems Corp.

CERN Dividend Declaration

On December 10, 2021, the board of directors of Cerner Corporation (CERN), declared a cash dividend to stockholders of $0.27 per issued and outstanding share, up 23 percent from the prior quarterly dividend of $0.22. The cash dividend will be payable on January 11, 2022, to shareholders of record as of the close of business on December 27, 2021.
