Aspen Group Inc. (NASDAQ: ASPU) stock declined by 5.2% at the last close while the ASPU stock price plunged by 4.23% in the pre-market trading session. Aspen Group, Inc. is an education technology holding company that uses its infrastructure and experience to help its two colleges, Aspen University and the United States University, to achieve their goal of making college more accessible.
C. James Jensen, a member of the Aspen Group’s Board of Directors, has announced his resignation. Mr. Jensen decided to join AGI’s Advisory Board despite the fact that he is beginning a new firm that will take up the majority of his time. Dr. Joan Prince has been appointed as an independent director to ASPU’s Board of Directors. The modifications go into effect right away.

Jim has been instrumental in the development of their people-focused, micro-team culture. His entrepreneurial mentality and experienced advice have been important factors to the success as a long-standing board member, having worked as one of AGI’s initial directors since 2012. They appreciate his efforts throughout the years, as well as his willingness to join their Advisory Board, which was formed to give additional experience in areas such as staff development, operations, and regulatory affairs, among other things.
Dr. Joan Prince, who will work as an independent director, will replace the board position vacated by Mr. Jensen’s resignation. Dr. Prince, who recently resigned as Vice Chancellor for Global Inclusion and Engagement at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, will join on the Compensation Committee and act as a mentor for ASPU’s efforts to increase workplace equality and diversity.
