CTE is a degenerative brain condition that affects soldiers, athletes, and those who have experienced repeated brain trauma. Ally is contributing a total of $10,000 to the Concussion Legacy Foundation and the USO in honor of May’s recognition as Mental Health Awareness Month, in order to further critical studies on CTE and its debilitating impact.

Bowman, driver of the No. 48 Ally Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE commented,

It’ll be a pleasure to pilot the patriotic No. 48 Ally Chevrolet in Charlotte next weekend. ALLY’s military men and women, as well as their families, make tremendous sacrifices for us and their country. Getting Captain Brewer’s name on the car for 600 miles would be memorable. Bringing focus of seeking a cure to CTE and PTSD by services like the Concussion Legacy Foundation and the USO is critical.

Chris Nowinski, co-founder, and CEO of the Concussion Legacy Foundation said,

Initially, when he started experiencing the symptoms of multiple concussions he recognized the urgent need to speed up CTE studies to better recognize and promote the mental health ramifications of brain injuries he founded the Concussion Legacy Foundation nearly 15 years ago. Ally’s contribution will help them understand more on how to avoid, diagnose, and handle CTE through clinical and brain bank study.
