Today, Vera Bradley Inc. (VRA) for Breast Cancer reported contributions of $1.4 million for the current year, taking the total raised sum to date to $36 million in the funding of breast cancer research.
The money collected specifically finance the pioneering research carried out at the Centre for Breast Cancer Research of the Vera Bradley Foundation at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana. The IU Cancer Center is listed as a Comprehensive Cancer Center, the best recognition granted for scientific excellence by the National Cancer Institute.
Traditionally, the Organization collects its funding through annual signature activities such as the Vera Bradley Foundation for Classic Breast Cancer, tennis, yoga, and balling weekends A get together of Girlfriends Event, which brings together Vera Bradley’s fans for a brand image behind scenes. Nevertheless, the activities in 2020 have been abandoned due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Foundation’s devoted volunteers sewed face masks as a substitute for organizing its trademark events and assembled “Gifts of Hope,” readymade Vera Bradley gift packs, as special donor incentives to encourage charity donations. In addition to fundraising efforts led by the Foundation, sponsors, friends, retail partners, and other dedicated supporters, Vera Bradley coordinates a number of events and fundraisers around the country. Even donations are given to customers from Vera Bradley while shopping at Verabradley.com or in-store.
Vera Bradley Inc. (VRA) launched a limited edition two-pack of its Cotton Face Masks in exclusive Foundation prints, Felicity Paisley and Felicity Paisley Pink, sold for $25.00 at all Vera Bradley Factory sites, mainline outlets, and on www.verabradley.com, to collect donations for breast cancer research this year. 100% of the Felicity Paisley and Felicity Paisley Pink mask two-pack sales would be given to the Foundation by December 31, 2020.
