Neonode’s Chief Executive Officer, Urban Forssell appreciated the efforts of HMI Solutions team on securing the new business and anticipated to build and deliver that mission-critical technology. The customer with whom the company has signed the agreement is an agile and innovative global technology corporation and NEON is seeing it as an opportunity to significantly expand business with that client in times ahead. Dealing with challenging aerospace and defense applications will provide the company with value addition to its expertise as it will also have positive impact on wider commercial applications too.

Neonode is a provider of optical sensing solutions for touch, gesture control, and remote sensing and in recent months the company came up expanding exposure of its technology solution in new areas. In August, Singapore Changi Airport started using the company’s Neonode zForce technology in contactless self-check kiosks. Happyhover is a touch emulating solution developed by Singapore-based Arctan Analytics Pte Ltd. which has already been used in automated check-in and bag-drop kiosks at the airport.

Singapore Changi Airport, one of the largest transportation hubs in Asia and ranked as the World’s Best Airport, combined Neonode’s technology with that retrofit solution. In the face of COVID-19 pandemic, enabling contactless processing powered by touch sensor module of Neonode eliminates the need of passengers touching the screen to select their option by simply pointing their finger close to the screen.
