The ExOne Company (XONE) Joined Xometry As Exclusive Partner In Binder Jetting

The ExOne Company (XONE) entered into a collaboration deal with Xometry for metal 3D printing services.

XONE is a leading developer, manufacturer, and seller of industrial 3D printing system and services to its customers spread around all regions of the world. It sells 3D printers which can make products using silicate sands, ceramic powders or metals using additive manufacturing technology of binder jetting. On the other hand Xometry is the largest marketplace in the United States, popular for customized products manufacturing.

As part of the deal, both will join hands to provide services around metal 3D printing. The binder jetting technique of ExOne provides fast and low-cost 3D service of metal printing. With signing of the current deal, that will now be available through Digital RFQ Marketplace of Xometry.

Binder jetting is way of inkjet printing that quickly set down a bonding material onto a thin layer of particles in powdered form. Those particles could be of metal, ceramics, sand or any other composite materials. The manufacturing of product gets completed by repeating the printing process in steps by depositing layer after layer. The process also makes use of a layout from digital design file usually of a computer aided design (CAD). It will help Xometry in providing customers with cheaper and speedy solutions for making prototype and other industrial parts using 3D metal printing.

Xometry has recently launched Digital RFQ Marketplace targeting joining industrial customers with services providers. On that platform, ExOne will work as an exclusive partner in providing binder jetting services. ExOne currently has capability of 3D printing through more than 20 materials. Those also include stainless steels like 17-4PH and 316L, and Tool Steels like M2 and alloys including Inconel 718.

Randy Altschuler, Xometry’s CEO, said that with this partnership, our customers will be getting benefit of ExOne’s innovative additive manufacturing expertise.
